Displays various pieces of information: sound format, number of channels, sample size, compression type, buffer size total/running/remaining time. Click here to cycle between information items.

Sound Queue Popup
Selects and plays the desired sound from the popup menu list. During play you can add further sounds to the queue by drag and dropping new files onto the SoundMachine icon from the Finder or using the File menu.
Sample Rate Popup
Selects the sample rate for playback. The top menu item is the default rate, the next group of menu items enable selection of an arbitrary sample rate, and the last group lists standard Mac and audio sample rates.
Loop Button
Loops or repeats the current sound indefinitely.

Next Sound Button
Skips to the next sound (if there is more than one sound in the queue).

Previous Sound Button
Skips to the previous sound (if there is more than one sound in the queue).

Volume Down
Decreases the volume by 3dB of the current sound (µ-law and A-law only). Use the sound control panel for greater control over volume of the sound.

Volume Up
Increases the volume by 3dB of the current sound (µ-law and A-law only). Use the sound control panel for greater control over volume of the sound.

Pause Button
Pauses or restarts playing the current sound.

Fast Forward Button
Fastforwards the current sound. Multiple clicks accelerate the playing.

Play Button
Plays or resumes playing the current sound.
[keyboard equivalent G]
Backwards/Rewind Button
Plays the current sound backwards. The first click plays at normal speed (but backwards) and further clicks accelerate the playing.

Progress Bar
Displays the progress of the current sound. Click anywhere within the progress bar to skip to that portion of the sound.
